Hello 4-H Friends,
February may be the shortest month of the year, but it’s a powerful reminder that impact isn’t measured in days—it’s measured in focus, consistency, and heart. This is the time when the excitement of January’s fresh start begins to settle, and real progress is built through steady effort.
Let’s use this month to:
Refocus on our goals with clarity and purpose.
Strengthen our connections with one another, fostering collaboration and trust.
Celebrate small wins, because they are the building blocks of big achievements.
Remember, February also carries themes of kindness, resilience, and renewal. Whether it’s through a thoughtful gesture, a creative idea, or simply showing up with your best energy, each of us has the power to make this month meaningful.
Let’s make these 28 days count—together.
With appreciation and optimism,

4-H Project Guide – What can I learn more about???

A 4-H project is an area you want to learn more about during the year. There are projects on just about any topic you would like to study and explore, from art to woodworking, from computers to rabbits, from sewing to mechanical science.
So how do you know what projects are available to you? This resource lists all the possible projects that 4-H offers, with a table of contents list on the first two pages and more detail in the pages that follow. In addition, your club organizational leader or county-based educator can tell you what projects and resources are available in your county.

Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) is a national multi-species quality assurance program for youth ages 8 to 21. The program is designed to provide a minimum 60 minutes of education each year. Save the Date for the Price County Market Animal Sale program.
The YQCA organizational Board of Directors adopted the following goals for the YQCA training and certification program:
- Ensure safety and well-being of animals produced by youth for showing and for 4-H and FFA projects.
- Ensure a safe food supply to consumers.
- Enhance the future of the livestock industry by educating youth on these very important issues so they can become more informed producers, consumers and/or employees in the agriculture and food industry.
- Maximize the limited development time and budgets of state and national youth program leaders to provide an effective quality assurance program.
- Offer livestock shows a valid, national quality assurance certification for youth livestock exhibitors.

Our Goal:
Empower youth to create 100,000 handmade Valentines and share them with people around the world! This site is simply to register the Valentines you’ve made. Once completed, you can deliver them anywhere someone could use a little joy—such as a local nursing home, seniors in your community, teachers at school, or anyone who deserves to feel appreciated.

Wisconsin 4-H and Positive Youth Development have a new resource to share for youth in grades 5K-2, the Cloverbud age group.
The Science in the Seasons Series curriculum was recently published on the Wisconsin Positive Youth Development Institute website.
This beautifully designed resource offers twelve months of at-home or in-person lessons for youth in the Cloverbud age group. Lessons focus on:
- Connections to nature and science
- Hands-on science experiments using common household items
- Life lessons youth can learn from nature

January Meetings
Flambeau 4-Leafers – Snowy Owl Craft
Turn a pine cone into an adorable snowy owl craft! This project is great for kids because the process is a lot of fun and the final product is so cute. Combine this owl craft with a book about snowy owls, and you’ve got a great science lesson for winter! Craft Project +Food + Friendship = Park Falls 4-H/Flambeau 4-Leafers January Meeting fun.

Hillbillies 4-H
At the January meeting the Hillbillies 4-H club made valentines to foster connection, and make people feel cherished in the community.
These 4-Hers sent Valentine’s cards to area nursing homes to combat loneliness, foster community, and remind isolated seniors they are loved and remembered. This community service provides a vital connection that boosts mental well-being, creates intergenerational bonds, and brings joy through simple acts of kindness. These gestures combat isolation, create a festive atmosphere, and offer a chance for residents to reminisce about their own past loves and holidays.
